AFP-16 When aesthetic considerations are as important as ease of maintenance and long life, Eliason AFP-16 Aluminum Flush Panel doors are the perfect answer. They provide an attractive, easy-care option for applications where reduced glass area is desired, but only moderate abuse tolerance is required. They offer excellent design flexibility and feature an elegant, contemporary look that’s particularly well-suited for commercial and educational facility applications subjected to moderate to heavy traffic. Challenging environmental conditions such as high humidity or corrosive chemicals that quickly destroy hollow metal doors are not a problem for the AFP-16. This makes them the ideal choice for water and wastewater treatment plants and industrial facilities. The AFP-16 is also available with stainless steel face sheets as the AFP-16SS model for sanitary environments such as hospitals, laboratories, and kitchens. Aluminum face sheets resist fading and corrosion Our aluminum face sheets are .062" thick architectural-quality 5005 alloy, and are available in smooth, fluted, or embossed textures in any of our standard or optional anodized colors. We can also paint aluminum face sheets in any of our available finishes, or your own custom color. Face sheets are secured on all four sides by full-length integral reglets on the edges of the stiles and rails. Securing the face sheet continuously on four sides without troublesome screw-applied capping is only possible with mitered corner joinery. Of course, it’s definitely more difficult to manufacture doors this way, so other door makers don’t do it. But the fact that it results in a more durable door is all the reason we need. Standard and optional internal reinforcements provide secure attachment for the exact hardware specified. For added impact resistance in high traffic entrances we recommend .120" rigid FRP backing behind the face sheet. We can supply doors with hardware installed, or prepped for field installation of hardware. |
